Biofy at Agriness Next 2025: AI in real life and the future of animal production

On May 8 and 9, 2025, Balneário Camboriú (SC) was the stage for #AgrinessNext2025, one of the main events for #innovation and #technology in #animalproduction in Latin America. Focusing on the integration between #artificialintelligence and humans, the event brought together experts, producers, and companies in the sector to discuss the future of #swineproduction, #poultry, and #dairy farming.

Closing the series of lectures on May 9, Paulo Perez, CEO and co-founder of Biofy Technologies, delivered the lecture "AI in real life: much more than ChatGPT". With over 30 years of experience in AI, software, and telecommunications, Paulo shared the journey of Biofy, highlighting the company's two nominations as "Innovation Highlight in AI" recognized globally by Oracle.

The lecture provided an overview of the evolution of #artificialintelligence, from its origins in the 1950s and 1960s, through the boom of #artificialneuralnetworks in the 1980s and 1990s, the creation of #Transformers in 2017, to the emergence of #LLMs (Large Language Models) in 2022. Paulo also recalled the historic milestone of 2024, when the pioneers of AI, Geoffrey Hinton (UK) and Yoshua Bengio (Canada), received the #NobelPrize for their fundamental contributions to the field.

During the presentation, the solutions developed by Biofy were highlighted, with emphasis on the Dogfy project — a robot dog trained to detect pests in sugarcane fields. This field research work exemplifies the practical application of AI in agriculture, as reported by EPTV.

To conclude, Paulo shared his vision of the future of artificial intelligence, predicting that AI will match human intelligence soon. He emphasized that trillions of dollars will be invested in AI in the coming years, positioning it as a new landmark in human evolution.

Biofy's participation in Agriness Next 2025 reinforces its commitment to innovation and the advancement of artificial intelligence applied to animal production.
