This was the analysis of Leandro Vieira, vice president for AI and High Tech companies at Oracle in Latin America, during the Data & AI event held recently in São Paulo. According to Vieira, the Brazilian market is evolving rapidly, and Oracle sees great possibilities to support local organizations in this process. “Brazil is two years behind what is happening at this moment in the United States. If we look at what was happening two years ago there, it is exactly where we are now,” he stated.

A notable example of this advancement is the partnership between Biofy and Oracle, highlighted during the event as part of the innovation ecosystem. Biofy, which uses the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) platform for its AI solutions, was born as a technological spin-off from the Laudo Laboratory and has been consolidating itself as a reference in the sector.

Among the company's latest initiatives is Biofy Genomics, created in 2024, which uses AI to accelerate the genetic sequencing of bacteria. The goal is to identify microorganisms that already show resistance to available antibiotics, a crucial challenge for public health. Currently, the technology is being tested in six laboratories and one hospital, in a pilot phase, demonstrating the positive impact of innovation in the Brazilian market.

Furthermore, Oracle reinforced the importance of flexible AI architectures that are not limited to a single proprietary language model. The ability to adapt solutions to customer needs is essential to ensure efficiency and performance in AI use, and OCI plays a fundamental role in this process.
